Terence Choo’s Guide to Operational Fitness & Burnout Prevention

Terence Choo isn’t just preventing burnout—he’s reshaping how organizations across Singapore view health, performance, and sustainable success. As a burnout prevention speaker and founder of Fit Formula Global, Terence has trained numerous Singaporean professionals, led national wellness initiatives, and helped shift workplace wellness from merely ticking a checklist to true transformation.

In this SG60 Showcase feature, Terence shares his experience working with the Singapore Police Force and HomeTeamNS, and how tools like the Health Map™ are helping leaders and teams prioritize energy, resilience, and long-term wellbeing. Read on to learn how his strategic approach to health is helping Singapore build a fitter, sharper, and more sustainable future.

National Service, National Impact

Terence Choo delivering a high-impact keynote on burnout prevention in Singapore.

Q: What program have you led that significantly contributes to Singapore’s development?

A: One of the most meaningful initiatives I’ve led is IPPTReady.com, which helps uniformed officers in Singapore prepare for their annual fitness test, the IPPT.

Available as a free online book, it provides tiered guidance across three fitness levels—empowering many to train smarter and adopt sustainable fitness habits. Leaders also gain valuable insights into motivating their teams and driving behavior change.

Another key initiative is Buddy FIT, a peer-based training model rolled out across all SPF units, engaging over 30,000 officers. It shifted fitness culture from solo compliance to team-based accountability. Together, these programs foster healthier, more resilient teams and support Singapore’s goals for operational excellence and national readiness.

Q: What makes your approach particularly relevant for Singapore’s next phase of growth?

A: As Singapore grows more demanding and digitally connected, energy, mental clarity, and health resilience are essential. My proprietary Health Assessment tool identifies health obstacles and offers sequenced action plans that can be supercharged with a coaching process or “DIY”.. It works alongside tools like StrengthsFinder, giving leaders the clarity to act strategically, not just energetically.

My focus isn’t just on health—it’s on health that serves leadership, productivity, and purpose. This is how we build sustainable workplaces and high-performance cultures.

Q: Who have you worked with recently?

A: I’ve worked closely with the Singapore Police Force, POLWEL, and HomeTeamNS. I also serve on the executive committee of the Association of Professional Speakers Singapore, curating event programs for the speaker community.

Presenting his signature Health Map™ strategy at a leadership summit.

Q: What are your most impactful programs, and how do they align with national priorities?

A: My top three are:

  • Nutrition and Fitness for Peak Performance—blending physical readiness with work-life sustainability.
  • Success That Doesn’t Hurt—teaching professionals how to align health with ambition and avoid burnout.
  • The Sequence Secret—a deep dive into why people fail despite best efforts, and how sequencing health changes unlocks better results.

These programs empower individuals to take control of their health journey. When people feel good, they think sharply, collaborate better, and lead with integrity. That’s national resilience in motion.

Q: What sets you apart from others in the workplace wellness field?

A: I create transformational experiences based on behavioral science and personalized assessment instead of offering generic advice. My Health Map™ uncovers blind spots and helps each person build a custom plan that aligns with their lifestyle, strengths, and aspirations. I turn “shoulds” into action.

Q: How do you stay relevant and continuously improve?

A: I invest heavily in my personal development with mentors and coaches—over $60,000 in global certifications over the past few years. I attend top-tier industry events organised by WorkWell Leaders and serve on multiple boards. Learning keeps me sharp, humble, and evolving. That’s how I ensure my work remains relevant, evidence-based, and impactful.
