Kelly Kan: Strengthening Singapore Through Inner Resilience

With over 12 years of experience in mental wellness, mindset coaching, and emotional intelligence, Kelly Kan, founder of Wellbeing Inside Out, is helping Singapore’s workforce thrive through challenges, starting from within.

Known for her calming presence and science-backed approach, she has guided thousands to silence inner self-doubt, reset emotional clarity, and lead with self-awareness.

In this SG60 Showcase feature, Kelly explores the roots of mental resilience, highlights the programs she built to support Singapore’s next chapter, and explains why mindset serves as a strategic advantage.

Tackling the Inner Game: Mindset as the Foundation

Q: Kelly, tell us about an initiative you’ve led that’s contributed to Singapore’s workforce development.

A: One of the most transformative programs I created is Silencing Your Negative Chatters. It was born from the insight that many professionals, regardless of age or seniority, carry quiet but powerful self-doubt. For instance, perfectionism, impostor syndrome, or harsh internal narratives can undermine even the most capable individuals.

This webinar-based series introduces my 3As framework—a practical tool for identifying, reframing, and replacing negative self-talk. I designed it based on psychological science but kept it intentionally simple, so professionals and even students can apply it immediately. Participants often report improved clarity, productivity, and confidence—not just at work, but in their personal lives too.

Q: How has this program supported national goals like future-readiness and resilience?

A: By helping individuals regain focus and inner strength, the program directly contributes to Singapore’s goals of developing a resilient, adaptable, and emotionally agile workforce. As our economy transitions and transforms, internal clarity grows just as vital as technical skills—and this initiative directly addresses that need.

Human-Centered Tools for High-Performing Teams

Q: What other programs have helped you extend your impact beyond individuals?

A: Beyond personal resilience, I also run Coaching, Strengths and Emotional Intelligence Workshops for Leaders. These are designed to equip managers and leaders to regulate stress, build emotional trust, and strengthen communication across diverse teams.

I’ve delivered these programs for organisations like Singapore General Hospital, JTC, and the Singapore Police Force, and have coached over 300 professionals to shift mindsets and build resilience. Whether it’s through a workshop or a one-on-one session, my goal remains the same: help people lead from a place of emotional strength and connection.

Q: You were recently recognised with a workplace wellbeing award—what did that mean to you?

A: Receiving a workplace wellbeing award this year marked a meaningful milestone. While the official announcement is still to come, the recognition affirmed that what we’re doing—bringing empathy, clarity, and emotional wellness into professional spaces—isn’t just relevant, but essential.

Furthermore, it’s encouraging to see more organisations acknowledging the importance of inner resilience and emotional trust in the workplace.

The Inner Game of Leadership

Q: What makes your approach different from other speakers and trainers in this space?

A: I blend science with soul. My foundation in counselling and positive psychology ensures that everything I teach is grounded in evidence, but I deliver it through genuine connection and deeply safe spaces. As a result, people feel seen, heard, and supported—and that’s where real change begins.

Transformation isn’t just about new knowledge. It’s about reshaping the way someone thinks, feels, and leads. And when that happens, the ripple effects extend far beyond the individual.

Final Thoughts: Kelly Kan’s Inner Impact on Singapore’s Future

With clarity and empathy, Kelly inspires audiences to lead from within—one mindset shift at a time.

Kelly Kan doesn’t just teach resilience; she embodies it. With her rare blend of calm clarity, science-backed insight, and deep empathy, she is redefining what it means to lead from within. Moreover, in a world that often prizes speed over stillness, her work reminds us that sustainable performance begins with inner strength.

By helping individuals quiet their inner critic and guiding leaders to create emotionally safe environments, Kelly is building more than just a resilient workforce; she’s nurturing a culture where self-awareness becomes the seed for innovation, trust, and true leadership.

Looking ahead, as Singapore steps into an increasingly complex future, voices like Kelly’s are not just helpful—they’re vital. She shows us that the real game-changer isn’t just technology or talent, but mindset, and that the strongest leaders are those who’ve done the inner work first.
