Leading with Questions, Not Just Answers
Q: Can you share an initiative that’s contributed significantly to Singapore’s development?
A: I co-led the design and execution of a Leadership Development and Coaching Culture Program for a major public agency focused on workforce transformation. It was part of Singapore’s broader national effort to prepare leaders to thrive in complexity.
We moved leaders away from top-down models toward daily coaching habits. The experience included neuroscience-based tools, live coaching sessions, and organizational integration plans. The cultural shift was tangible—leaders reported better engagement, collaboration, and confidence.
More importantly, the ripple effects went beyond individual change, contributing to a larger movement of empathetic, adaptive leadership within Singapore’s public service.

Q: Why is your perspective particularly relevant for Singapore’s future?
A: I blend corporate leadership experience with a human-centered approach to change. I’ve been in the tech world, led teams at Microsoft, and now focus on personal mastery and systems thinking.
What I offer is a safe, structured space for leaders to reflect, align with purpose, and lead through uncertainty. I believe Singapore’s future will be built on empathy, trust, and the courage to challenge outdated norms. My approach—rooted in coaching, neuroscience, and practical business insight—helps build that foundation.
Q: Who have you worked with in Singapore?
A: I’ve facilitated programs with WSG, NTUC, SIM, UOB, Microsoft, Dell, Mediatek, Visa, and more. These sessions span public and private sectors—and always come back to one thing: empowering people to lead from within.
Signature Programs that Build Coaching Cultures
Q: What are your most impactful programs, and how do they align with national goals?
A: My top three programs are:
- Adaptive Self Leadership: Helping leaders build self-awareness, resilience, and alignment with purpose.
- Coaching Skills for a Vibrant Coaching Culture: Embedding coaching behaviors in leadership, turning managers into mentors.
- Stakeholder Engagement in Changing Times: Equipping leaders to communicate, influence, and co-create across complex systems.
Each builds on the idea that leadership is a conversation, not a command. They support Singapore’s goals for inclusive growth, innovation, and sustainable transformation.

Q: What sets you apart in the leadership development field?
A: I don’t just deliver workshops—I design reflective journeys. My sessions integrate systems thinking, real-world strategy, and deep coaching. I’ve lived the pressures of leadership, so I bring empathy and pragmatism to every room. I create psychologically safe spaces that foster meaningful growth.
Q: How do you stay ahead of trends and continuously refine your work?
A: I invest in my own learning through conferences, coaching circles, and certifications. I also stay close to the ground, listening to what leaders are struggling with. That real-world insight, combined with global research, helps me adapt and deliver content that’s timely and transformational.
Final Thoughts: Coaching is the Culture
Sanjay Mehta believes that culture isn’t changed by memos—it’s changed by moments of connection. His work reminds us that sustainable leadership is human leadership. Through coaching, empathy, and reflection, he’s not just preparing Singapore for the future—he’s helping shape it.
