Leading Innovation in Media Infrastructure and Talent
Q: Describe a specific initiative or program you’ve led that has contributed to Singapore’s development in the past 5 years.
A: In March 2022, I founded Oceanus Media Global—Southeast Asia’s first virtual production studio. With a S$5 million investment, we brought international-grade immersive media capabilities to Singapore. The support from IMDA validated our strategic value, especially for Smart Nation initiatives.
Our studio allows regional productions to use world-class in-camera visual effects (ICVFX) right here at home. But it’s more than tech. We also partnered with Curtin University and collaborated with Senior Minister of State Tan Kiat How on talent development. These efforts ensure our creative professionals stay globally competitive.
Through AP Media, we’ve served 795 clients and impacted 178 brands, including DBS, Louis Vuitton, and National Museum Singapore. We’re democratizing immersive media and building Singapore’s status as a regional center for virtual production.
Q: What unique perspective or expertise do you bring that is particularly relevant to Singapore’s next chapter of growth?
A: My experience sits at the intersection of creative innovation, immersive tech, and strategic business development. I’ve spent over 15 years operating across ASEAN, understanding how to scale media excellence from Singapore into the region.
From XR technology to industry-aligned education, I work on the entire value chain—from infrastructure and policy to hands-on execution. My recognition at Cannes and the New York Festival, along with IMDA partnerships and a Curtin University curriculum, show that we’re not just adopting new media—we’re helping define it.
Q: How many Singaporean professionals have you trained or influenced through your work?
A: Between 1,001 to 5,000 professionals through masterclasses, government initiatives, and production collaborations.
Immersive Technology as a Catalyst for National Competitiveness
Q: What sets you apart from other speakers or trainers in your field?
A: I’ve backed my vision with real investments—S$5 million into Southeast Asia’s first virtual production studio. That’s not theory, that’s lived commitment. My blend of creative, technical, and business expertise lets me speak credibly to CEOs, engineers, and creatives alike.
Q: How do you stay current with industry trends and continuously improve your craft?
A: I stay engaged with Cannes, New York Festival, and global tech partners like disguise. I co-develop curricula with Curtin University, lead masterclasses, and constantly evaluate XR and VP trends. My day-to-day work on high-level client projects ensures I don’t just talk trends—I test them.
