Age Reset Coach Lloyd Gan Empowers Midlife Transformation

Lloyd Gan knows what it’s like to hit the wall in midlife. After a long and successful career in private banking, he burned out and was hit hard by the global financial crisis, losing nearly everything.

Refusing to stay down, he rebuilt himself from the ground up by venturing into business and eventually building three successful startups. At 43, he took up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, competed for the first time at 45, and continued testing his limits on the mat well into his 50s.

Now an Age Reset Coach, Lloyd is also an avid gym-goer, cyclist, and car track enthusiast. He founded True North Academy to help midlife Singaporeans redefine what it means to grow older. Through his science-backed “Age Reset Mastery” framework, his program tackles some of Singapore’s most pressing workforce challenges: aging, mental health, and career sustainability.

In this SG60 Showcase feature, Lloyd shares how his personal transformation and professional insights are equipping Singaporeans to thrive, not just survive, well into their 50s and beyond.

Rewiring Midlife Wellness and Professional Longevity

Q: You’ve contributed to Singapore’s development through your wellness work. Can you share a key initiative?

A: Through True North Academy, I developed the “Age Reset” methodology to help mid-career professionals sustain energy, focus, and performance through their 50s and beyond. My proprietary Age Reset Framework supports Singapore’s broader goals of workforce longevity and healthy aging.

Workshops and keynotes like Unleash Your Abundance have reached hundreds of professionals across Singapore. Participants often describe the sessions as “revelations,” challenging the idea that aging must mean decline. By competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at 45, I show that vitality is not just possible, it’s sustainable.

Importantly, my approach is accessible. It’s about practical strategies rather than expensive supplements or retreats. That makes it relevant across income levels and helps foster a more resilient, healthier workforce.

A Personal Reinvention That Fuels National Resilience

Q: What unique perspective do you bring that aligns with Singapore’s future goals?

A: My journey from burnout to biohacker is a lived example of reinvention. Having built businesses, burned out in banking, and come back stronger, I understand what many midlife professional Singaporeans face: stress, health worries, and career transitions.

My “start before you’re ready” mindset also aligns with Singapore’s innovation culture. I focus on clarity through action, not just planning. By blending science with practical tools, I help professionals stay sharp physically and mentally.

Instead of talking about “anti-aging,” I champion “age reset”, a shift in mindset that sees experience as an asset, not a liability. This is essential as Singapore seeks to unlock the potential of its aging, highly skilled workforce.

Q: How many Singaporean professionals have been influenced by your work?

A: More than 1,000 professionals have taken part in my workshops, keynotes, and online programs. I’ve worked with everyone from EVOLVE MMA athletes to corporate teams and wellness communities.

My mission goes beyond workshops and keynote presentations. To make midlife reinvention accessible to even more Singaporeans, I’ve launched “The Reset Show”, a YouTube podcast where mid-life professionals share their stories.

By highlighting real journeys and practical strategies, “The Reset Show” aims to normalize conversations about aging well and empower listeners to see midlife, not as a crisis but as a reset for growth.

From Burnout to Breakthrough—By Example

Q: What sets your work apart from others in your field?

A: My work is rooted in lived experience; I don’t just speak about age reset; I live it daily. At 53, I train martial arts, run a business, and speak on vitality, all while maintaining high energy and clarity. My “3M Framework” offers practical, science-based strategies that anyone can follow.

While many talk about wellness in theory, my focus is helping mid-life professionals build it into their routines practically and sustainably. My transformation makes me relatable, especially for professionals who’ve hit midlife walls. I turn burnout into a breakthrough.

Q: How do you stay ahead in this evolving wellness space?
A:
I treat life like a lab, testing tools and strategies such as intermittent fasting, mindset training, and high-intensity workouts before sharing them. My goal is to ensure that they are practical and evidence-based. I also engage with global biohacking and wellness communities, participate in competitions, and conduct scientific research on aging and optimization.

Creating content across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn keeps me in tune with what professionals are struggling with today. I learn from their feedback and refine my tools constantly to stay relevant and practical.
