Solve for Change Round 1: Empowering Youth-Led Solutions Across Asia and Africa

Singapore, 26 August — Solve Education!, with support from Average Foundation, has successfully concluded Round 1 of Solve for Change, its pioneering microgrant initiative designed to amplify the impact of small, community-driven organizations.

By combining catalytic funding, digital tools, and global visibility, Solve for Change empowers emerging changemakers in education, employability, and digital equity to focus on impact — not bureaucracy.

Meet the Winners

This first round attracted 70 inspiring youth-led organizations from across Asia and Africa, each offering bold, locally-rooted approaches to real-world challenges.

Following a rigorous review process, 10 projects were selected as finalists, with two winners emerging:

Inspirational Spring (Nigeria)

Founded by Yusuf and his team, this initiative equips Nigerian youth with the digital and soft skills essential for today’s workforce. Beyond technical training, the program fosters resilience, grit, and leadership through gamified learning on Solve Education!’s Edbot.ai platform. Participants are not only enhancing their career readiness but also creating a ripple effect of empowerment across local communities.

SoyGoo by GoSoya (Indonesia)

Led by a collective of passionate women in East Java, SoyGoo transforms soy waste into eco-friendly products while delivering digital literacy training to women and youth in rural areas. The project tackles environmental and economic challenges in tandem, turning waste into livelihoods and learners into green entrepreneurs.

Voices from the Ground

Janine Teo, CEO of Solve Education! and founder of Solve for Change, shared:

“Solve for Change is about more than just funding — it’s about backing the belief that young people can transform their communities when given the right tools and trust. We created this initiative to support grassroots leaders who are already solving real problems, often with limited resources. By equipping them with microgrants, technology, and global visibility, we’re not just enabling projects — we’re nurturing a new generation of youth entrepreneurs who are building livelihoods and driving lasting change.”

A Word from the Winner Yusuf, founder of Inspirational Spring, reflected:

“Did I feel happy to have received that grant? I was most thrilled the moment I was announced as one of the top ten because, for me, it was a sign of doing something great. It was a sign that I could go beyond my current level to make something meaningful out of life, something that could interest other parts of the world. Then, I vowed this would be my stepping stone to thinking global.”

Looking Ahead

The success of Round 1 affirms that small, strategic investments in grassroots innovation can deliver outsized impact. Solve for Change is already reviewing a new wave of applications for its second round, with more promising youth-led projects on the horizon.

Each finalist gains access to Solve Education!’s GAIN framework, including gamified learning via Edbot.ai, targeted incentives to sustain motivation, AI-driven skill coaching, and a vibrant global network of peers and mentors.

A Call to Collaboration

This initiative is made possible through the support of partners like Average Foundation. To scale the impact of youth-led innovation, we invite funders, philanthropists, and cross-sector partners to collaborate—through mentorship, co-funding, or strategic alignment.

By joining forces, we can accelerate a future where local ingenuity drives global progress.
